Our platform is built around the Marine Safety (Domestic Commercial Vessel) National Law and Marine Order 504 (MO504), which sets out safety management system requirements for domestic commercial vessels. All templates, checklists, and audit tools are aligned with current AMSA requirements as a minimum, however we have a growing number of international customers. This means we are working hard to ensure that OffshoreSMS works seamlessly for commercial marine customers in any country, like New Zealand, Canada, USA, UK and with suitability for compliance with ISM codes.

Yes. You can build your own SMS using our guided setup wizard and pre-built templates, or you can engage our SMS Development Service where a marine safety specialist builds a fully compliant SMS tailored to your vessel and operations. We support you right through to compliance sign-off.

Yes. The platform digitises your entire SMS, including risk assessments, policies, procedures, emergency contacts, crew inductions, and all vessel logs. Everything is stored in the cloud so your crew always has the latest version and you never lose a record.

Absolutely. Our Australian compliance audits are conducted against Marine Order 504 and typically take 3–4 hours. You'll receive a comprehensive written report with findings and recommendations. Audits start from $350 per vessel, and we can assign follow-up tasks directly to your crew inside the platform.

We offer two subscription plans: the Basic Plan at $195/asset/year for owner-operators and low-complexity operations, and the PRO Plan at $295/asset/year which includes 12 integrated log types, trip and passenger management, maintenance tracking, and fleet compliance dashboards. Both plans include unlimited crew members at no extra cost.

Per vessel (asset), not per user. You can add unlimited crew members to each vessel at no additional cost. This makes OffshoreSMS particularly cost-effective for vessels with larger crews or high crew turnover.

Yes. The web-based Fleet Dashboard is included free with both Basic and PRO subscriptions. It gives fleet managers real-time compliance visibility, crew management, maintenance oversight, custom reporting, and full SMS administration from any browser.

Yes we do. For our enterprise fleet customers we have a simple but useful API library with a range of GET and POST endpoints allowing your tech team to interact directly with the stored fleet and asset data in OffshoreSMS. All data is hosted on Google Cloud Platform (Firebase) infrastructure with primary hosting in Australia. Your data is encrypted both in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest, meeting industry-standard security requirements.

We take security seriously. The platform supports multi-factor authentication (MFA), enforces strong password requirements, and uses role-based access control so you can manage exactly what each crew member can see and do. Passwords are encrypted and never visible to our staff or developers.

You do. You retain full intellectual property over any content and files you upload to the platform. We comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, and we never share your data without your consent. You can request access, correction, export, or deletion of your data at any time.

The Skippr app is a cross-platform mobile app available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play. The Fleet Dashboard is a web application that works in any modern browser on desktop or tablet. Between the two, your team is covered whether they're on the water or in the office.
