We didn't come from the tech world and wander into marine. We came from the water - and built the tools we wished we'd had.
Why We Exist
OffshoreSMS was created in 2018 by a small team of commercial vessel owners who were drowning in compliance paperwork. The introduction of Australia's National Law for commercial vessels meant more documentation, more audits, and more time spent in the office instead of on the water.
We knew there had to be a better way. So we built one - a simple set of cloud-based tools designed to make safety and compliance easy, digital, and paper-free. Not because we saw a market opportunity, but because we needed it ourselves.
Today, OffshoreSMS is used by operators across Australia - from single-vessel owner/operators to large commercial fleets. But at heart, we're still the same team of commercial mariners, and our mission hasn't changed: make life easier and safer for the people who work on and manage commercial vessels.
